Joshua Ducharme
I am a lifelong creative, deeply inspired by nature and the ever-changing beauty of the ocean. My work is rooted in a deep respect for the environment and a passion for transformation.
A signature hallmark of my art is the revival of surfboards once destined for landfills. Each board carries a history—sun, salt, surf, and story—and whenever possible, I uncover and honor that journey. Through careful restoration and intentional design, I breathe new life into the discarded, creating pieces that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.
My creative process is grounded in sustainability. I source used surfboards locally from the San Diego area and collaborate with small, community-based businesses to obtain the glass, resin, and materials for each piece. Whether it's a stained glass mosaic or a resin geode design, every board is crafted to reflect its unique spirit while contributing to the beauty of our shared coastal environment.
San Diego has been my home for over 20 years. Creating art that uplifts this place and its people is more than a calling—it’s a joy that fills my soul.
