Description
Breaking Light is a powerful exploration of motion, heat, and transformation—where fire-toned horizons collide with the relentless energy of the sea. Inspired by the dramatic sunsets of Bali and the Indonesian archipelago, this piece captures the exact moment when equatorial light fractures across water, breaking into color, texture, and emotion.
Created using layered epoxy resin, the surface is embedded with hand-placed glass elements and natural quartz, giving the wave depth, dimension, and an almost luminous quality. The quartz refracts light throughout the day, causing the piece to shift and evolve as the environment changes—much like the ocean itself. Rich reds, molten ambers, and deep ocean blues are suspended in resin, evoking the intensity of Indonesian dusk as the sun melts into the horizon.
The result is both kinetic and grounded—an artwork that feels alive, bold, and unapologetically powerful. Breaking Light is not a calm seascape; it is the moment energy peaks, when the wave rises and the sky burns, when nature refuses to be subtle.
This piece is a statement of force, freedom, and intensity—where Bali’s fire-filled sunsets meet the raw movement of the ocean, designed to command space and invite viewers to feel, not just observe.
